Rue de Courcelles, Paris – Lift Feasibility Study

Located near the city centre in Paris’ 8th arrondissement, rue de Courcelles is in the heart of a busy commercial area and close do the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysees.

This building is being converted into a luxury private residence over 6 floors and presently without a lift in the building, The Lift Consultancy was asked to complete a feasibility study to find the most suitable options in the market and provide accurate budget costs for a new passenger lift.

With minimal space available resulting in a lift shaft of a little over a metre square in plan and no room for a motor room, the primary need was to achieve as large a lift car as possible.

For such a small lift shaft, there are a surprising number of options available. All the major lift companies Otis, Kone, Schindler & ThyssenKrupp have specialist ranges to suit small shafts.

This building is typical of many in Paris and there are several local specialist lift companies that provide a variety of technical solutions (Drum drive, traction motor-room-less, hydraulic).

A 4-person motor-room-less traction lift was found to be easily achievable with several products available in the market.
