New Lift Installation–Princes Gate London

New Lift Installation Princes Gate London

New Lift Installation, London

Built around the mid-19th century, Princes Gate was constructed in phases as an extension to the old Kingston House Estate. Kingston House was one of the largest 18th century houses in old Knightsbridge which stood until the 1930’s.

When built and bounded on three sides by fields, this mansion had practically unencumbered views down to Surrey.

57 Princes Gate is a Grade II listed building and has since been converted into luxury residential apartments. The present lift in the building dates from the 1960s and is in dire need of replacement.

The Lift Consultancy were commissioned to write a specification for a new lift including steel supporting tower structure, select a contractor, and then work in support of the design team overseeing the lift works until complete. The Lift Consultancy is also acting as Contract Administrator for the lift project.

The lift selected is made up from very high quality components to ensure a high level of performance and reliability. Finishes are predominantly glass, including the car and tower structure cladding.
